How it works

From posting an errand to paying for it

Everything happens on one page you can check at any time. We run errands in Nairobi CBD, Gikomba, Kamukunji, Eastleigh, Ngara, Muthurwa, Parklands, Industrial Area, South B, South C, Westlands, Kilimani, Hurlingham, Buruburu, Donholm, Karen, Langata, Kasarani, Embakasi, Roysambu, Rongai, Kikuyu, Ruiru, Kitengela, Athi River at set prices, and anywhere else in Nairobi on a quote.

  1. 1

Create an account with your phone number

Sign up with your name, your phone number and a PIN you choose. There is no app to download and no email address needed — the site runs in any phone browser, and the updates that matter also arrive by SMS.

If you are buying for a business, add the business name so it shows on your errands.

  2. 2

    Post the errand

Say whether it is one stop or several, pick the service, and describe the job. Set where it starts and where it ends, with the landmark, stall number or building name a runner will actually navigate by, plus a phone number for each end.

Attach what helps: the photo the seller sent you, pictures of the item, or documents that have to go with the runner. Add the instructions you would give a friend doing you the favour.

  3. 3

    See the price, then confirm

The full price — service, area surcharge and any multi-stop fee — appears before you post. If either end is outside our named areas there is no automatic price, so the errand goes to admin for a quote and a runner is only sent once you have agreed it.

You can send the errand out now or schedule it for a date and time.

  4. 4

    A runner takes it on

The job goes to our runners, or to the one you named as your preferred runner. You can see a runner's rating and how many errands they have completed before choosing.

The runner gets a text, opens the job and accepts it. You get an SMS when they start moving.

  5. 5

    Follow it while it runs

The errand page shows the current status — finding a runner, assigned, on the way, completed. If something needs deciding mid-run, the runner messages you from where they are: a stall out of stock, a counter refusing a document, an item that is not what the photo showed.

You answer in the app, and the run carries on without a phone call.

  6. 6

    Pay once it is done

When the errand is complete you get a text with the amount and where to send it — our M-Pesa till, or the runner directly by M-Pesa or cash. You confirm the payment on the errand page.

Then you rate the runner. That rating is what the next client sees, which is what keeps the standard up.
